We work hard to get our efforts noticed by the media and are so proud when this goal comes to fruition. A well informed community is an empowered one as well, so take a look at some of the latest coverage we’ve received below and help spread the word about all the amazing developments at Sunnynook Community Association.

WORKING BEE. 9.30am on the 3rd Saturday of each month
Are you interested in doing something for our Sunnynook Environment? Join the Community Association at Lyford Reserve with your gloves, a bottle of water, tools and enthusiasm to help us get rid of weeds and to plant native trees.

Sunnynook Community Association at a Glance
Sunnynook Community Association is a volunteer organisation whose goals are to make the Sunnynook and Forrest Hill community a vibrant and welcoming place to live. A key initiative undertaken by our group is to ecologically restore Lyford Bush Reserve through eradication, and maintenance of environmental weeds throughout the project site. In parallel, revegetation with native species takes place, along with monitoring of the stream and surrounding environment. Our group is a community led, volunteer driven initiative, reliant on the effort of unpaid but passionate volunteers. The contribution of our diverse volunteer group has seen good progress in our goals, however in order to continue and sustain this project, we recognise the importance of supporting and enabling our community participants. Increasingly, Auckland is home to a diverse population it is imperative that all members of our community are engaged and share a common appreciation of our local natural environment.
